Last year, I shared with you my favourite phone applications to help you improve or stay on top of your health game. Well, this year, I thought I would bring you a similar post related to technology and health. Only this time around, let’s talk about podcasts and more specifically about: 5 Podcasts You Need To Listen To In 2017!

But first, just in case you are unfamiliar with podcasts, they are digital audio files that you can download onto your computer or mobile device absolutely for free. Nowadays, all phones and computers pretty much come with a podcast app. So, all you have to do is open that section on your phone and hit the search button to find some of the podcasts I will talk about today, or any other topic you might be interested in.

Honestly, I only started actively listening to podcasts about a year ago and now I wonder what took me so long! It is such a practical and easy way to stay informed about your favourite topics or to be entertained while getting ready in the morning, riding a bus or driving to work. I even love to download a few episodes in advance before I board a long flight. Seriously, if you have not done so already, give podcasts a try!

Now, let’s get back to the topic of this post:

5 Podcasts You Need To Listen To In 2017

As I was saying, podcasts are a great way to occupy your mind while you are doing something else that does not require a lot of your attention or has become very automatic (showering, sitting in the bus/train/plane, driving, shopping, etc). Just like people used to listen to the radio, I feel like podcasts are like radio shows, only they are broadcasted online.

For me, podcasts and especially health-related podcasts are a great way to stay up to date with the latest news when it comes to various health topics. Today let me share with you 5 of my favourite ones. You absolutely have to give them a listen. Trust me, you will not regret it ;).

1. The Ultimate Health Podcast

This podcast hosted by Marni Wasserman & Dr. Jesse Chappus is one of my all time favourite. They provide so much valuable content and always interview the best experts out there. If you are looking to stay up to date with the latest health research and health trends, then definitely check them out: here.

2. Beauty Inside Out With Kimberly Snyder

I love this podcast hosted by clinical nutritionist and yogi Kimberly Snyder. She always starts each podcast with a topic of importance or answering a few questions from her audience and then moves on to interviewing her guests. Guests on her show vary from Deepak Chopra to the latest clean beauty expert. Kimberly was definitely one of my inspiration for becoming a nutritionist and through her podcast, I remain inspired and sharp with topics related to nutrition, especially.

3. TED Radio Hour

If you enjoy watching TED talks, then you will definitely LOVE listening to this podcast, which basically groups several TED talks related to one specific topic. It also includes interviews with each TED talk’s speaker. I always learn something new when I listen to this podcast. I highly recommend it.

4. Meditation Minis with Chel Hamilton

This podcast is one of my favourites to turn to whenever I need to relax and re-center myself. It truly helps me to come back to what lies within and to get calm whenever I am having a hectic day. Each episode of the podcast is a guided meditation of about 10 to 13 minutes. It is honestly perfect as Chel’s voice guides you to relaxation. If you are a newbie to meditation, then this podcast is definitely for you.

And even if you are a meditation pro, then still give it a listen. It is truly worth it.

5. Modern Love

This is by far one of my favourite non-health related podcasts! It features the love stories that appeared in the popular New York Times column Modern Love. These stories are read by notable personalities and you also get to hear updates from the essayists themselves. I cannot recommend this beautiful podcast enough! The stories are so touching and they are so diverse. You will truly feel right up there with each story teller. Each episode is usually 30 minutes max, so it’s perfect to listen to while doing the dishes or getting ready in the morning. You will truly feel inspired by the beautiful love stories that happen to people just like us. A new episode airs every Wednesday.

Please have a listen: here.

And that’s it for today, loves. What about you? Do you have a favourite podcast you think is worth listening to? Please share it in the comments below :).

As always, stay in great health,

Sarah.
